The Year That Was: 2025 in Reflection

2025 felt like a long exhale after years of holding breath. It was a year of beginnings, of rediscovering purpose, of finding voice in the noise and calm in the chaos. It was the year Venting Cloud was born – not just as a YouTube podcast or as a Medium Blog, but as a home stretch for all inconvenient, brooding thoughts that refused to stay silent. It became a weather forecast for emotions, a broadcast of storms and sunshine alike. Every blog felt like a release, a reminder that vulnerability can be art, and that sometimes, the best way to heal is to speak.

Career took a turn this year – not just in title or paycheck, but in meaning. The realization dawned that being good at a job is only half the story; enjoying it is the other half that makes the story worth telling. Work became more than deadlines and deliverables – it became a space of laughter, shared lunches, and inside jokes that stitched together a sense of belonging.

Finding a home away from home in colleagues who became friends, in mentors who became guides, and in moments that became memories – that was the real promotion. The money, the role, the awards – they’re nice, but fleeting. What stays is the feeling of being part of something that matters.

Corporate communications became that “something.” It flourished into a creative playground where words found purpose and stories found audience. Writing for internal and external channels, crafting messages that connected people, and shaping narratives that inspired – it all felt like a calling answered.

Another quiet but powerful shift in 2025 was the journey back to roots. The year unfolded with moments of cultural reconnection – attending Indian community events, celebrating festivals with new friends, and rediscovering traditions that once felt distant. There was a sense of belonging that came not from geography, but from shared stories, laughter, and the familiar rhythm of language and music.

Watching my son learn more about his heritage, seeing him embrace the colours, sounds, and values of Indian culture, was deeply gratifying. It wasn’t just about passing down customs; it was about building identity, about showing that roots can travel with us wherever we go. The community became an extended family, and every gathering, every shared meal, every dance and prayer felt like a homecoming.

2025 was also a year of writing – in every form imaginable. From Tax advisory articles to Medium essays, from personal story scripts to children’s stories, words became both work and wonder. Two children’s books made their way to Amazon, co-authored with my son – a collaboration that brought immeasurable joy. Watching his imagination take flight and helping it land on paper was a kind of magic that no accolade could match.

This was a group effort and my husband execution and finesse on catapulting this publishing venture, helping the book to actually look and feel like the book technically speaking exceeded far beyond my expectations. We spent hours re-reading and co-writing bits and some of those creative discussions has easily been best family moments spent.

Those books weren’t just stories; they were bridges between generations, between dreams and discipline, between bedtime tales and lifelong memories. And now, with five more books in the pipeline – including one deeply personal story – the horizon feels limitless.

That personal story, scribbled once on notepads, tissues, and the backs of receipts, is finally taking shape. It’s not just a book; it’s a testament to confidence. It is my soulful writing seed that I am ready to plant now. Hard work could have done it years ago, but confidence made it possible now. Whatever held back before has no place anymore. The words are ready, the story is breathing, and the heart is set on sharing it.

If 2025 taught anything, it’s that life isn’t about winning – it’s about staying in the race. It’s about showing up, surviving, and savoring the small victories that often go unnoticed. It’s about being alive enough to feel, to fail, to try again.

Happiness, too, took on a new meaning. It’s easy to find joy in others’ joys – something women are often celebrated for – but true joy begins within. To see joy in oneself first is not selfish; it’s essential. Only then can it be shared, only then can it multiply.

As the new year 2026 dawned a day ago, the hope is simple yet profound :

To keep finding words for feelings, letters for thoughts, punctuations for hesitations, and adverbs for experiences.

To keep writing, speaking, and creating.

To keep venting, not out of frustration, but out of freedom.

2025 was not perfect, but it was honest. It was messy, meaningful, and magnificently human. And if that’s what it means to live fully – then as 2026 rises on the horizon, Venting Cloud will continue to be that safe corner of the universe, where words find meaning, where silence finds sound, and where every reader/listener feels less alone ; because when clouds vent, they don’t just pour, they also make way for light.

So (raise a toast) here is to finding my voice in 2025 and hopefully making it echo in 2026!
